Legal and ownership

Last updated August 27, 2026 · Operated by NextMedia LLC

614Sites is a brand operated and maintained by NextMedia LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”), based in Columbus, Ohio. This page explains who owns the website we build for you, what happens if a payment is reversed, and what we may do with completed work. It works together with our Terms of Service and Refund Policy.

1. The website becomes your property after the setup fee is paid

The one-time website build (also called the setup fee) is charged when you check out. Once that setup fee has been charged and paid in full, the website produced for that order is your property. You own the site as a completed work, including the design and content created for you under that paid order, subject to the licenses and rights reserved below.

2. Refunds and chargebacks reverse ownership

If there is a refund, chargeback, payment dispute, or other reversal of the setup fee (in whole or in part), legal ownership of that website transfers to NextMedia LLC. In that case the site is not your property. We may take the site offline, disconnect hosting and domains we control, and use or dispose of the work as we see fit. A reversed payment is treated as if the purchase did not complete.

3. Portfolio and advertising rights

NextMedia LLC has the right to use any websites and related services purchased from us as advertising, case studies, or portfolio examples. That includes screenshots, URLs, business names, and descriptions of the work.

You may ask us not to use your site in advertisements. We will consider that request as a courtesy. It is a recommendation only. It does not waive or limit our legal right to use any and all services we have delivered as advertising or as portfolio for NextMedia LLC.

4. Monthly care, cancellation, and hosting

Monthly care is a separate subscription for hosting, SSL, backups, updates, and ongoing maintenance. Once the website is purchased (setup fee paid), it is your property even if you later cancel monthly care.

If the subscription is canceled, we have the right to stop all hosting of the website. You are required to host the website on your own terms, through your own host. We may provide source code to you, but we are not required to provide maintenance, hosting, or related costs after cancellation. Care that was already paid continues only through the end of the current billing period unless Stripe or we end it sooner.

You can cancel monthly care from the link in your receipt email. We confirm the request with a one-time code sent to the email on the order. No customer account is required.

5. Source code after cancel

After cancellation we may, at our discretion, provide source code so you can host the site elsewhere. We are not required to package, migrate, or support that handoff, and we are not required to keep paying for hosting, domains, certificates, or third-party tools.
